Laura Barrera (Georgia)

Laura graduated from the University of North Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She began working in construction in 2017 for Mitchell Mechanical (HVAC/Plumbing) as an administrator. Soon after she was promoted to an entry level safety position and eventually the Safety Supervisor role. It was in this capacity that she started teaching operator certification courses in both English and Spanish. Following her desire for a safety related career, in 2023 Laura took the Safety Supervisor role at Price Industries where she was subsequently promoted to Safety Manager.

Laura joined Sunbelt Rentals in 2025 at the Gainesville, GA branch as a Safety Trainer. She is qualified to teach MEWP and forklift equipment operator courses and services all of Georgia.

The safety trainer role is important to her because she wants to assist Spanish (in addition to English) speaking workers earn equipment certifications. She understands the need for proper safety training in the construction industry and enjoys helping crew members understand the safe operation of a variety of equipment they operate on the jobsite.

In her free time, Laura and her spouse enjoy time with their English Labrador, Benji. She also loves spending time with her family, going to the gym, and playing soccer.
